Carroll County Neighbors Helping Neighbors

In 2005, The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation awarded a Faith in Action grant to the Partnership for a Healthier Carroll County, Inc., to fund Carroll County Neighbors Helping Neighbors. The focus of this new program is to foster caring relationships between volunteers of all faiths and their neighbors with long-term health needs.

The grant was awarded as a part of the Foundation’s commitment to expand its national interfaith volunteer care giving program, Faith in Action. Currently, the Faith in Action network consists of hundreds of programs nationwide.

Carroll County Neighbors Helping Neighbors will provide a range of volunteer services to residents with long-term health needs, including: telephone/e-mail reassurance, friendly visits, light household chores/repairs, transportation, and link/referral services.

Contact Becky Herman or Patty Owen at powen@ccg.carr.org or 410-386-3812 if you would like additional information or materials. Faith organizations and individuals who are interested in volunteer service are strongly encouraged to contact us. Also, financial support for this volunteer service program is being sought to ensure its long-term stability.
