Partnership Youth Initiative -

Since 2005, as part of its commitment to support and encourage positive youth development, The Partnership has coordinated an annual outdoor youth showcase and celebration. 

Held in 2006 and 2007 as Party in the Park, the event is planned and carried out by a coalition of community organizations that originally included Girl Scouts of Central Maryland, Westminster City Parks & Recreation, and others. 

This initiative recognizes and affirms the importance of youth in our community, and provides them with many valuable resources.

The event is a safe, drug-free, alcohol-free, tobacco-free, and violence-free environment where youth aged 11-18 can spend time with friends, and enjoy good food, exhibits with learning and service opportunities, entertainment, activities, and music.  Attractions vary each year, but past events have featured an art show, a "battle of the bands," a climbing tower, a basketball tournament, a photography contest, and a car show.  This unique celebration offers an ideal way to showcase the talents, accomplishments and interests of our youth.

Help will be needed to provide next year's event for our youth, and we welcome individuals of all ages as volunteers.  Community service hours for students are available.
