Results Statement: Child well-being and family life is supported throughout the community.

The positive youth and family development area recognizes three critical points:

  1. Families are the cornerstones of a healthy community,

  2. Our youth represent our future, and

  3. All community members should be involved as youth role models and mentors, because "it takes a village to raise a child."

Carroll County is fortunate to have a dynamic Local Management Board (LMB) serving our community which has functioned as our Leadership Team in this area. To better understand issues affecting children in our community, the LMB will be conducting its own needs assessment in FY2012. Leadership Team activity will be suspended while we work with the LMB to to review goals and indicators for this area through the assessment process.

The Vital Signs indicators presented here are a portion of the indicators identified by the Governor’s Office for Children. These are monitored by the LMB as important measurements of progress in the area of Positive Youth and Family Development. See the Links below for more about the Results and Indicators of the Governor’s Office for Children.
