Carroll
County is a picturesque rural/suburban Maryland jurisdiction of
about 160,000 people. With a strong agricultural heritage and
beautiful open rolling spaces, the area has long been home to hard
working families and small town traditions. Ours is already a
fairly healthy community. The 1990’s brought a surge of housing
and business development, a significant population growth fueled
by migration from nearby urban and suburban areas and a growing
sense of change.
Through a
collaborative, highly interactive process, the original steering
committee drafted a healthier community vision. It is as accurate
today as when originally developed and reflects the proud heritage
of this area.
